The Relational Community

The Relational School is dedicated to understanding the therapeutic relationship and the uses of the intersubjective space that is co-created within the therapeutic dyad. Our activities aim to create forums for further conversations around relationality coming from a variety of therapeutic disciplines as well as a formal association to disseminate the work.

We are a grouping of individuals who have come together to promote relational thinking in the UK.  TRS UK began organically with a small London study group who put on the first Teach-In “What is Relational Psychotherapy” in 2004.  This attracted great interest across the UK and a steering group was set up to manage this growing interest.  Within a couple years the steering group became the executive committee with a constitution for both its activities (The Relational School UK) and its becoming a chapter of the International Association of Relational Psychoanalysis and Psychotherapy (IARPP).

TRS is open to all modalities of counselling and psychotherapy who are interested in what can broadly be described as “relational”.  We have participants from all accrediting and registration organisations.  Further we have members from a broad base of clinical practice from TA, humanistic, existential, psychoanalytic, Jungian, integrative, bodywork, etc.  If you are interested in our organisation, please get in contact with us by using the contact from on the right.
